There are a total of 4 characters that does martial arts and it is Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, Forest Law, and Lee Chaolan. My favorite is Lee because he is "excellent" with his Silver Cyclone attack which is a damage of 96 just like Forest's Death Touch punch. However, these 4 are quite strong but Forest's Death Touch is actually 115 damage in counter mode(1+2+3+4). They also have a homing attack, Lee's is different and I'm just warning you about that one.

Are you referring to the martial art, Jeet kune Do? I know that the Laws and Lee practice it, but I though Paul practiced karate. Anyway, out of the 4 I like Forest the most, because I love his cancels and his taunts. . Just give him DSS and he would be amazing.

Hmm, you thought that Paul does karate, he does only Martial arts based judo and the members of the Mishima family does karate, but one of the members changed their fighting style into a different type of karate. I like Forest Law too, in some cases, he is definitely strong. And he looks just like Bruce Lee.

Everyone in the game uses martial arts or a hybrid form of martial arts.

Most of the character's fighting styles are based in actual martial arts so I'm not sure why the OP is saying there are only 4. Capoeira, Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, Pro Wrestling, Vale Tudo, Chinese Kempo, Jeet Kune Do, Sumo...these are all represented by different characters in the game and there are plenty more.
The characters who's styles are not grounded in reality are the sillier ones like Jack 6, Yoshimitsu, Bears, Alisa, etc.
But maybe I just misunderstood the original post.
And no, Yoshi's style is not based in reality. Just because it says his fighting style is "Manji Ninjitsu" or whatever doesn't mean that it's an actual style. It's fictional. Just like Kuma's "Kuma Shin Ken" Karate is completely made up. Just because NAMCO says that's what their style is doesn't mean it's real.

Are you claiming that Karate, Taekwondo, Pro Wrestling, Sumo, Vale Tudo, Chinese Kempo & co aren't martial arts? You said there "are 4 character that do martial arts", but like the others already pointed out; almost everyone in Tekken uses martial arts. (except for a hand full of exaggarated characters, like Yoshi, Kuni, Alisa, the Jacks, Dr.B, etc) If i'd have to name my favorite martial arts fighter in Tekken i'd say young Heihachi (TT2) . He has no super powers, yet manages to fight with superhuman beings like Devil jin, Devil (Kazuya), etc He also leaves more of a "Karateka" impression on me than other well known karate-characters such as Ryu from Street Fighter. (...his personality however is another thing. XD )

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't understand what he means. (Sigh), I'm trying to say that Jeet Kune Do and Judo are Martial Arts (Martial Arts based Judo and Jeet Kune Do) the ones that do the flipping guys? Those two were based as Martial Arts, not the others, still can't understand, go to the tekkenpedia.com website and search for Forest Law, Paul Phoenix, Lee/Violet, and Marshall Law. Therefore, the others are Martial Arts but not based as Martial Arts.

Sir, I don't know why you're sighing and all that. Your posts did not make your point clear. Now, maybe you do not claim English as a first language. That's always possible. But I can hardly be held accountable for not being able to understand a post when it is poorly worded. So, just realize that. I'm working with what you're giving me.
So, if I may take another crack at this, you're saying that Judo and Jeet Kune Do are actual martial arts and are listed as such on Tekkenpedia but other martial arts such as Muay Thai and Taekwondo are not? Well then, Tekkenpedia is wrong. I don't know what else to say to that.

If the thread excludes Mishima's, Then My other favourite is Paul Phoenix. Him and Kazuya were my first characters back on Tekken 2.

I hope you didn't take any offense when i said that it's hard to unserstand what you're saying! ^^° I myself needed a whole decade to learn a somewhat decent level of english, so i know how hard it can be to communicate with others in a language that isn't your native one. "Martial arts" is a word used for every form of fighting style that trains your body to become a weapon, be it for sport, self defense, or even killing. Jet Kune Do and Judo are two forms of martial art. So i'm guessing you actually wanted to ask: "Who is your favorite Judo/Jet Kune Do based fighter?" In that case, for me it's Marshall Law, because he's hillarious. Beating up his own customers in Tekken 4, knocking out his friend Paul in Tekken 5 when he was confronted by him about the reperature bills for Pauls destryoed bike, and cheating (and failing) in the tournament in Tekken 6. XDDD
