Clowns are just spooky and they always appear in my nightmares and kill someone.
A fortune lady is different to a fortune cookie.

I hate spiders. I still remember a spider crawling on my face and nearly into my mouth when I was about to sleep. *shrudder*. It's not really a phobia but I have a fear of heights as well.

Spiders help reduce the number of flies and other pests, they are a God sent.

Would you like it if a spider nearly crawls into your mouth at 2AM in the morning when you were about to sleep?

Did you hear me say "I stomp on them." Especially the stretchy ones, I also hate snakes as a phobia too, thanks. The worst thing I had was a bee hive next to my window but Raid will stop it. Ever heard of tarantulas jumping in peoples faces-LOL. I wasn't speaking to you specifically. Well okay.

Venomous Poisonous Both are toxic. The difference is in the method of delivery of the toxin. One injects or actively administers the toxin through a bite or sting, etc. The other secretes, so that something coming into contact with the toxin will be effected. Venom IS poison. It's an issue of semantics and it's really not worth arguing about. Very good detail with the differences between poisonous and venomous.-I like this.

If I thought that there was a fortune teller whose abilities were legitimate, I'd tell them to contact the James Randi Educational Foundation. The JREF has an open challenge to anyone who can demonstrate paranormal or supernatural abilities under agreed upon testing conditions. The award for being able to do this is $1,000,000. The challenge has stood since 1964. Nobody has ever been able to verify that they do, in fact, have the abilities that they claim to have.
So, if I thought I knew of someone who did have these abilities and simply wasn't aware of the fact that they could receive one million US dollars in return for simply demonstrating their powers in a laboratory setting, I'd let them know about it and charge a finder's fee of...oh, let's say $75,000.
But I'd think it would be more likely that this "fortune teller" would just be ripping people off, giving people false hope and capitalizing on superstitious thinking like every other fortune teller does.
But ya, that's what I would do.

@tiamat: Ya. Me too. It would be a win/win for everyone. I'd get a quick $75,000, you'd be $925,000 richer, the JREF would receive incredible noteriety and funding and humanity as a whole would benefit from having demonstrated and documented scientific proof that human beings are able to foresee the future. Nobody loses there. And yet, this challenge has stood for almost 50 years. I wonder why. kbo: Ya but what were the fortunes she read to you? Were they specific, like " this thing will occur in your life on this day, at around this time, in this place?" Or was she vague as fuck, cold reading like "I'm seeing that something bad will happen in your life within the next year?" Ya, well NO SHIT LADY! Of course something bad will happen in my life within the next year! And then, when something bad does happen, as it inevitably will, people say "Whoaa, that fortune teller was right, man! Far out!" It's called confirmation bias and it's a common logical fallacy that fortune tellers and their like exploit and use to con people out of their money. Just sayin'.
