I hear loads of people hating on Nickelback, don't get me wrong they're not exactly my favourite band ever but they're not *that* bad. I saw them in Manchester supporting Bon Jovi a few years back and I thought their set was really good... *runs away* The power of the internet, one guy on reddit makes a funny meme about you sucking ass - everyone else will too. @lightzxiii (Y U SO HARD TO TAG?) I love most of the music in the game and in the cutscenes. TxSF will need to be equal to its greatness! |

I can admit that a musician or group is talented and I can admire that but still think that their music sucks. And if I get that impression from only hearing a small number of their songs, there's no reason for me to investigate and discover whatever gems they might have among the trash I've been exposed to. Nickleback is a good example of this. The band's got talent, drive and passion but I genuinely dislike what I hear whenever I hear it. But I like a whole lot of music and other things that other people would say are terrible so it's all a matter of opinion.
The "bandwagon effect" is definitely a true phenomenon, though. People want to be liked. If people that a person knows don't like a certain band, that person is likely to say they don't like it either even if they really do like it or are just unfamiliar with it in an attempt to be liked. But they may still sing it in the shower when they think nobody is around.
