Wouldn't it be one frame slower? I thought each input takes one frame. Down+back vs just down. If you get hit with devil Jin db2 (+5 on hit leaves crouching?) then he throws. If you push down to duck the throw, even though your crouching, you eat the throw. If you put down+back you duck the throw. Is it because down +back is faster? Or is it just something else retarded.

Chickens are awarded randomly I believe and as you go on a win streak while in possession of the chicken, you can earn chicken points and earn a great chicken and so on.

Can anyone break down the promotion system for me? I know it's a points based system, but I'm am unsure how many you need to promote/demote and what a win/lose against certain ranks will grant you in terms of points.

Can anyone break down the promotion system for me? I know it's a points based system, but I'm am unsure how many you need to promote/demote and what a win/lose against certain ranks will grant you in terms of points. From the way it looks. I'll break it down to fighting matches only. It's because of how self-explanatory it is and majority of the ppl will get it right away. Example Same rank = +/- 1 point 1 rank above = +/- 0.5 point 1 rank below = +/- 0.5 point 2 ranks above = +/- 0.33 point 2 ranks below = +/- 0.33 point It's not the official point system (although it was back in Tekken 5, so I'm pretty sure the same thing holds true for this game), you can kind of get the picture why fighting someone AROUND your rank won't net you as much points as someone that's the same rank as you. Also, the reason why you would probably get a demotion match is that, while you have been winning your matches against players with rankings close to yours, when you're fighting someone of the same rank, you're running the risk of losing a lot more points than if you were to just fight someone that's around your ranking. So yeah, that could possibly be the reason, I'm not entirely sure, but it sounds reasonable enough for me I guess lol This originally came from RKM from the WTF website so it's pretty much accredited to him.

I see, thanks for the answers! I know that there are so many alternatives though, such as having two differently ranked characters vs two differently ranked characters. Jac I hope we can sort something out!

Whenever I watch high level play I see that on open ground most player are not going for the max damage combo. I was just wondering if they are doing this for the better okizeme? I am such a scrub!

Ya because you might get max damage on a combo but, in open field, the combo might leave your opponent at an undesirable distance where momentum would be neutral. If you end with max damage, they're typically going to be knocked back out of your reach. You can use this to your advantage if there is a wall. But, if there's no wall, knocking them back with max damage enders might leave them in a position where they can regain control. So, you may want to bypass the max damage option in favor of leaving them in a situation where you can keep applying good pressure with Oki and where it will be more difficult for them to get back on their feet and turn the tables on you. It's all situational, of course.
Maybe you could look at it like fishing. You get a fish on the line, you want to keep control. You don't want to let it get away. Keep that sum bitch on the line.
If you knock them back with a full combo, they can tech and they'll be at enough of a distance that momentum goes back to neutral. Not going for max damage is typically done to avoid that.
