I have a crush on a friend of mine in high school right now. I liked her ever since I had classes with her three years in a row.

I did confess to her a while back but she says she's not ready for a relationship because one of her friends just got out of a bad one.

@liller: So you broke up with somebody you wanted to be with because a "friend" told you to? How was the girl reacting to his flirtation? It sounds like you're implying that she basically left you for your "friend". If that's the case, you're better off without either of them anyway because they are clearly shallow and untrustworthy.
@lightz: Sorry to have to say this but that's bullshit. It's the oldest excuse in the book. Do what you need to do to get her out of your mind and make the decision to raise your standards a bit so that you won't make a habit of falling for girls who are unavailable for whatever reason.

@snake I talked about it to another friend of hers and she also says that she doesn't want to be in the dating scene right now. I really don't want to force her, it's her own decision.

You couldn't force her even if you did want to. What would you do, pull an Ariel Castro on her? Anyway, what I'm saying is this: The statement that "I don't really want to be dating right now" is a flimsy excuse that is very commonly employed by both men and women. All it basically means is that the person wants to keep their options open and either isn't interested in anyone romantically or doesn't know if the feeling is mutual in regards to the person they ARE interested in. The reason why I say it's a "flimsy" excuse is because you can bet your ass that they wouldn't say that if they were talking to someone they were interested in.
I don't really like to be the guy who always bursts everybody's bubble but I just feel like somebody needs to give a more realistic perspective instead of the usual one where people say things just to be supportive but end up filling a person's head with false hope.
Just try to move on, bro. You can't make somebody feel a certain way. If the feeling isn't there, it isn't there. If you stay hung up on this chick, you may miss other opportunities that may very well be better for you in the long run anyway. But...you go ahead and do what you want. Sometimes we need to learn the hard way.

@snake I didn't leave her, my "friend" made her break up with me, because he apparently had better qualities. He kept on saying bullshit to her like if he was crying, but that motherfucker was never crying, he even told me that, and said to me that she was just a normal girl and he just wants to have fun, so he took her from me, and she believed all the bullshit he said.

Sometimes we need to learn the hard way. This guy knows the craic. It's hard to believe that she will ever be "interested" as she puts it. I have been in this position before and I have put girls in it also. Best thing to do is move on, even if it is hard.

Eh...honestly relationships are just a low priority in life right now. It'll be nice but i have other things that are important. Maybe staying friends is the way to go. Thanks.
Edit: I didn't really ask her out, I just confessed that I like her. I even said that I wasn't trying to ask her out.

Relationships are stupid. They're frail, take way to much effort and depending on the girl, one mistake is your relationship. It sickens me how hard you try to date a girl and when you get her, the sparks gone. Your much better off chasing than getting. It's the feel of going after someone that you enjoy, not receiving it. Crushes and infatuations are feeble emotions. The only ones you need are rage and hunger.
...
But hey love. Woo. Glad you like someone.

only if your lucky lol I'll just sicken everyone now by saying I am very happily in love, just waiting for him to pop the question after over 10 years together lol. For those who are still at high school/still very young or whatever, all I will say is this... what's your rush to find love and get into a relationship? OK so I felt the same when I was at school, but as you get older you soon realise it's not something you need in your life at that moment.. usually just better off having fun and waiting til your a bit older and wiser, at which point you will surely find the right person I'm happy for your relationship and all, but its unlikely if I ever decide to get into another relationship. Love sucks, and half the women on this planet are stupid ( not you and Tia of course ) and so are half of the men. Relationships are like dealing with that one person at school or work that you can't stand but you have to get along to get work done.

Love is like gold mining. Some people never try, some people get stuck with dirt, and some people find fake gold and lose half of their savings.
The real gold is buried under mountains of dirt, and I don't have the motivation to sift through all of it. If destiny happens and I end up with a wife, dog, and picket fence, then it will happen of it's own accord. i'm not going to go look for it.

Also, i'm not getting married without a prenup. I'm not betting half of everything I work for that I won't leave them or they won't leave me. It just sounds dumb to me lol.

They wouldn't feel that way if men didn't reinforce the concept. If they weren't able to find and marry men who see women as possessions or accessories like neanderthals, they wouldn't be able to live the pampered life that they do. It takes two to tango, brah.
